Vanessa Brunetti
Studio Artist
Vanessa Brunetti is not a native to the Asheville area. Nor a native to the south at all. Her roots lie in Kutztown, Pennsylvania where she first was introduced to the world of art. Having taken a few classes at the age of five at Kutztown University, she would later revisit the school that would become her homestead for awhile. She has mainly been captivated by drawing, but her creative doors were introduced to all different avenues, where she discovered an interest in woodworking, ceramics and most importantly painting.
In 2008 she attended a study abroad opportunity to Cortona, Italy where she furnished her knowledge of Art History and broadened her exploratory sites of the world. Finally she received a BS in Art Education in 2009. With a slight amount of opportunity in the field of art teaching in Pennsylvania, she decided to move to the art-driven city of Asheville. Also, she discovered she was determined to live a self-sustaining lifestyle and has not only been practicing the art of painting, but also sewing, constructing, crocheting, cooking, growing a garden, making wine and whatever else is possible to be home-conceived.
Mainly with her art, she finds beauty in capturing unique peoples personality with her drawings, and creating an atmospheric perspective through landscape painting. She had also made a few short films as well as a large scale tuscan mural for her fathers wine cellar. Vanessa is down to earth and very interested in the world as a whole and all the creative possibilities. Everyday, she feels, is a chance to make someones’ day shine just a little brighter!

Madalyn Wofford
Studio Artist
Madalyn Wofford is a graduate of Warren Wilson College with a BA in Studio Art and a concentration in painting and drawing. She has attended art school in Florence, Italy where she first discovered her love for figure drawing from Michelangelo's sculptures. She works in oils, acrylic, installation, and video art. Much of her work is in poetic metaphor and is influenced by surrealism and futurism.
Born in Winston-Salem, NC, she spent much time playing checkers and Scrabble. She is recently moved back from Santa Fe, NM where she studied landscapes and dabbled as DJ Maddog playing hair metal and rockabilly nights. She has spent long hours driving by herself in a packed Toyota across North America's finest southern states. She incorporates much of the southwestern sky into her work.
She is thrilled to be back in Asheville, NC and has a house studio in West Asheville. She is often contra dancing. You can see her work at www.skunkedstudios.com
