Naomi Doddington

Art Queen - Wine & Design Mt. Pleasant

Naomi sees herself as a Renaissance woman of sorts, anything artistic, she is into it with both feet. She is an actress and dancer, a singer and, of course, a painter. Naomi believes that all of the artistic pursuits in her life show themselves in her work. She loves to work in mixed media and does not believe that there are such things as mistakes. Her favorite thing about teaching at Wine and Design is how, even as everyone works towards the same design, each creation is unique. No matter how much someone tries to exactly imitate the original, the person they are and the energy they bring to the piece that particular day comes through in their end product.

Outside the studio, Naomi is pursuing a career as an actress. She is also a voracious reader, and especially loves history and biographies. She has a wonderful, supportive husband, and the most terrific little dog. Naomi is also a big fan of architecture, having studied it briefly in college. Livy Conner

Art Queen aka Livy Love Fest - Wine & Design Mt. Pleasant.

I have a bachelor's degree in Studio Art and Sociology from the College of Charleston. I've taught painting classes at the studio to adults and kids since 2008. The studio is a positive place to work. It has a can-do, energetic engine named Heather Speizman behind it, a fun staff, and the people who come to paint are happy and excited to be there. Adults come to their first class saying "I can't draw a stick figure" and go out realizing that they can indeed paint. It seems to me, from watching any young child with a marker or paintbrush in his/her hand, that creativity is a natural human trait, so it's nice to see adults rediscover their own creativity at the studio. Outside of the studio, I am a songwriter and musician and play in a group called The Brillers. I also teach private drawing and painting lessons and do paintings, drawings and creative projects for commission.

Anita Hepburn

I became an artist later in my life. After completing my studies in studio art at the College of Charleston I started to work as a graphic artist. With the encouragement of my husband, I started to teach art classes at various locations in Mt. Pleasant. I love every minute of it! I like to give the knowledge of art to my students and see the happiness when they successfully complete a painting.

I met Heather when she opened her first business, and it is wonderful to work with her. She is not only helps the community, she is also a great supporter of art.

In my free time, I like to paint, walk our little dog, Louis. And, of course, spend time with my husband, Brent and my teenage children, Jimmy and Julia.

Art and creativity has always been a FUN thing for me, a hobby really - I love sharing the artistic process and introducing people to our painting and art classes. It doesn’t matter your age or background, I believe anyone can be an artist, in their own way! When I’m not in the studio I enjoy traveling - and most importantly this Florida girl loves some Football in the fall... GO GATORS.
